Si chiama cos\u00ec dal 1950, quando cambi\u00f2 quello antico di PETESCIA, che derivava da Pat-Ashi (apertura della fiamma). Immerso in boschi di castagni \u00e8 un centro che si va spopolando sempre di pi\u00f9. Anticamente feudo dell\u2019Abbazia di Farfa, poi degli Orsini, dei Muti e dei Borghese dal 1632. Oggi la Rocca \u00e8 ridotta a rudere. Nel 1876 nel suo territorio \u00e8 stato rinvenuto un vero tesoro ricco di gioielli del I sec. d.C.
